Text
1.Notification of immigration officer.
When a person is admitted or committed to a correctional facility, a county jail or any other state, county, city or private institution which is supported wholly or in part by public funds, the chief administrative officer of the facility, jail or institution shall inquire at once into the nationality of the person and, if it appears that the person is an alien, the chief administrative officer shall notify immediately the United States immigration officer in charge of the district in which the facility, jail or institution is located, of:
