Text
1.Appointment.
The Governor shall appoint the Commissioner of Corrections, subject to review by the joint standing committee of the Legislature having jurisdiction over corrections matters and to confirmation by the Senate, to serve at the pleasure of the Governor.
2.Vacancy.
Vacancies in the office of the commissioner shall be filled as follows.
3.Qualifications.
To qualify for appointment as commissioner, a person must have training and experience in correctional administration or satisfactory experience in the direction of work of a comparable nature.
