§ 32 §12535 — Scope of practice for certified professional midwife
1.Certification.
A certified professional midwife may not practice without a current and valid certification.
2.National standards.
A certified professional midwife shall at all times practice within the scope of practice and national standards as delineated by the national association of certified professional midwives.
3.Medical testing and supplies.
The scope of practice of a certified professional midwife includes authorization to order and interpret medical laboratory tests and ultrasound scanning and to obtain equipment and supplies necessary for the safe practice of midwifery.
4.Administration of drugs.
The scope of practice of a certified professional midwife includes the authority to obtain and administer certain drugs as determined by board rule. The board shall limit the dru
