1.Appointment of directors. Directors are appointed by the commissioners of the county they represent, except that any host county director must be appointed by all the commissioners of the counties in the jail authority. Alternate directors may be appointed by the commissioners to act in the absence of a director. The operating and governance agreement defines the specific process for appointing directors. To the extent possible, the board of directors shall include a mix of individuals with sufficient managerial, technical, financial or corrections experience to execute their duties efficiently and effectively.
