Text
1.General penalty.
Notwithstanding Title 17-A, and unless otherwise specified, a violation of this chapter is a Class E crime, punishable by a fine of not less than $25 nor more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 30 days, or by both.
2.Traffic infraction.
A violation of the rules adopted by the Chief of the State Police pertaining to this subchapter is a traffic infraction subject to a forfeiture of not less than $25 nor more than $250.
