Text
1.State primary drinking water regulations.
The commissioner shall promulgate and enforce primary drinking water regulations which are necessary to protect the public health and which shall apply to all public water systems. Such regulations shall include:
2.State secondary drinking water regulations or guidelines.
The commissioner shall adopt secondary drinking water regulations or guidelines which are necessary to protect the public welfare. Such regulations or guidelines may apply to any contaminant in drinking water which may adversely affect the color, odor or appearance of the water and consequently may cause a substantial number of persons to discontinue using a public water system, or which may otherwise adversely affect the public welfare.
