§ 1 §254 — Mutilation

Maine·Title 1 GENERAL PROVISIONS·Ch. 9 SEAL, MOTTO, EMBLEMS AND FLAGS
No person shall publicly or openly mutilate, deface, defile, defy, trample upon, or by word or act cast contempt upon any such flag, standard, color, ensign or shield. Any violation of this section shall be a Class E crime.
