(a)This section applies only in Carroll County.
(b)(1) The Sheriff of Carroll County shall receive an annual salary of $140,000 beginning December 5, 2023.
(2)Beginning in 2026, the salary for the Sheriff shall be $191,078.10.
(3)Beginning in 2027, the salary for the Sheriff shall be $212,309.
(c)(1) The Sheriff may employ the number of personnel necessary for the proper execution of the duties of office.
(2)Personnel shall receive the compensation set by the County Commissioners of Carroll County.
(d)(1) Personnel employed by the Sheriff:
(i)Shall be placed on a probationary status; and
(ii)May be dismissed by the Sheriff for any reason.
