Section 3. Every land surveyor shall use only tapes or other types of measuring devices which have been approved for use under regulations promulgated by the board of registration of professional engineers and land surveyors as authorized by sections eighty-one D to eighty-one T, inclusive, of chapter one hundred and twelve. All tapes and measuring devices shall be compared for accuracy of calibration to a baseline whose length has been determined in conformance with national standards for linear measurement in a manner and frequency authorized by said board of registration. Records of compliance shall be exhibited upon demand to the said board of registration.
