§ 4 — Registration under chapter 90; application for certificate of title required

Section 4. (a) Except for vehicles referred to in section two, whoever acquires a motor vehicle or trailer after the effective date of this chapter, shall be required to make application for a certificate of title. Such application shall be made within ten days from the acquisition of ownership of said vehicle or trailer.(b) Except for vehicles referred to in section two, no new application for registration pertaining to a motor vehicle or trailer shall be accepted under the provisions of chapter ninety until the owner thereof makes application to the registrar for a certificate of title of the vehicle.
