Section 40.

(a)Marine technology, environmental, and engineering programs shall be established at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
(b)The purposes and responsibilities of the marine technology, environmental, and engineering programs shall be to:
(1)promote the development of and conduct research in innovative envirotechnologies related to the marine environment; and(2) assist and cooperate with Massachusetts business, industry, and agencies in the demonstration, transfer, and deployment of innovative marine envirotechnologies.
