Section 35. Whoever willfully or negligently drops, throws or otherwise releases any object, missile or other article onto any way as defined in section one of chapter ninety, the turnpike as defined in clause (b) of section four of chapter three hundred and fifty-four of the acts of nineteen hundred and fifty-two or the tunnels as defined in clause (d) of section one of chapter five hundred and ninety-eight of the acts of nineteen hundred and fifty-eight so that the lives or safety of the public might be endangered shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars, or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or both.
