§ 14 — Executions in actions on judgments

Section 14.

(a)If a judgment is rendered for the plaintiff by a court in an action founded on a judgment rendered by a court outside of the commonwealth, execution shall not issue until the plaintiff files with the court rendering the judgment in the later action a transcript of the record of the judgment in the earlier case under the seal of the court rendering it, attested by the clerk of such court.
(b)If a judgment is rendered for the plaintiff by a court in an action founded on a judgment rendered by a different court, within the commonwealth, execution shall not issue until the plaintiff files with the court rendering the judgment in the later action, a certificate of the judgment in the earlier case under the seal of the court rendering it, attested by the clerk of such court.
