Section 2A.

(a)As used in this section, the following words shall have the following meanings:-''Child'', a person under the age of 18.''Fatality'', any death of a child.''Local team'', a local child fatality review team established pursuant to subsection (c).''Near fatality'', an act that, as certified by a physician, places a child in serious or critical condition.''State team'', the state fatality review team established by subsection (b).''Team'', the state or a local team.
(b)There shall be a state child fatality review team within the office of the chief medical examiner. Notwithstanding section 172 of chapter 6, members of the state team shall be subject to criminal offender record checks to be conducted by the colonel of the state police, on behalf of the chief medical examiner.
