Section 202. As used in this section, "fetal death'' means death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a fetus, irrespective of the duration of pregnancy, as indicated by the fact that after such expulsion or extraction the fetus does not breathe or show any other evidence of life such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles. "Fetal death'' does not include an abortion as defined in section twelve K of chapter one hundred and twelve.When a fetal death occurs in a hospital, if a fetus is of twenty weeks gestation or more, or a weight of three hundred and fifty grams or more, the physician in attendance shall prepare and transmit a report of such death to the person in charge of the hospital or his design
