§ 39 — Subsidized catastrophic prescription drug insurance program; department of aging and independence

Section 39.

(a)For the purposes of this section and section 40, the following words shall, unless the context clearly requires otherwise, have the following meanings:--[ Definition of "Department'' in subsection (a) effective until January 9, 2025. For text effective January 9, 2025, see below.]"Department,'' the department of elder affairs.[ Definition of "Department'' in subsection (a) as amended by 2024, 392, Sec. 89 effective January 9, 2025. For text effective until January 9, 2025, see above.]"Department,'' the department of aging and independence."Eligible person,'' a resident of the commonwealth who:
(1)is 65 years of age or older; or(2) has a gross annual household income less than or equal to 188 per cent of the federal poverty level, does not work more than 40 hours per mont
