Section 18D.

(a)Each municipality in the commonwealth, under the requirements of chapter 150E, shall establish, staff and operate, in conjunction with 1 or more other municipalities or governmental bodies, as determined by the department, or by itself, a PSAP on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week basis, in a manner and according to a schedule to be approved by the department.
(b)The department shall review each proposed municipal or regional plan to determine if it meets the requirements of sections 18A to 18J, inclusive, and the technical and operational standards established by the department. The department shall require primary and regional PSAPs to display automatic number identification, automatic location identification and may require other enhanced 911 features that are or may become
