Section 11.
(a)Every organization other than a workers' compensation insurer, operating a preferred provider arrangement shall annually pay an assessment equal to two and twenty-eight hundredths per cent of the gross premiums received during the preceding calendar year for coverage of covered persons residing in this commonwealth; provided, however, that no assessment shall be imposed on premiums for medicare supplemental coverage. In calculating said gross premiums, there shall be deducted any amounts eligible for deduction pursuant to section twenty-four of chapter sixty-three and any amounts that are subject to the assessment imposed by section one hundred and ten L of chapter one hundred and seventy-five or by section ten A of chapter one hundred and seventy-six G.
