§ 3 — Executive office of transportation; duties

Section 3. The executive office shall take such steps as may be necessary to provide for the development, promotion, preservation, and improvement of an adequate, safe, efficient and convenient rail system for the movement of passengers and freight in the commonwealth. In carrying out the purposes of this chapter, the executive office shall seek to encourage and develop rail services which promote and maintain the economic wellbeing of the citizens of the commonwealth, and which preserve the environment and the commonwealth's natural resources.
