Section 88. There shall be within the department of public health a board of registration of allied mental health and human services professions, in this section and sections eighty-nine and ninety, which shall consist of 15 members, one of whom shall be designated as chairperson, to be appointed in the manner provided by section eighty-nine. Of the first board members appointed five shall continue in office for one year, three for two years and three, including the chairperson, shall continue in office for three years. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of three years each except that any person chosen to fill a vacancy shall be appointed only for the unexpired term of the board member to be succeeded.
