§ 18 — Duties of inspectors; training; enforcement

Section 18. (a) Each inspector shall comply with and enforce all orders and regulations as directed by the director.(b) The director shall establish mandatory training programs for all municipal animal inspectors. Such training shall be designed to ensure that inspections are conducted on a consistent basis and that inspectors are educated on matters including, but not limited to, animal health and welfare. Each municipal animal inspector shall complete such training not more than 90 days after appointment and every 2 years thereafter. The director may require additional training for animal inspectors as needed.(c) An inspector who refuses or neglects to comply with this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.
