§ 12 — Compliance with chapter

No person shall hold or conduct, or assist, aid or abet in holding or conducting, any horse or dog racing meeting within the commonwealth unless such person shall comply with the provisions of this chapter.Any person holding or conducting or any person aiding or abetting in holding or conducting, any horse or dog racing meeting within the commonwealth in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall, unless some other penalty for such violation is provided in this chapter, be punished for each such offence by a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year, or both. For the purpose of this section, each day on which any horse or dog racing meeting shall be held or conducted in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be considered a separate and distinct offence.
