Text
Section 70. There shall be a commission to be known as the alcoholic beverages control commission, to consist of a commissioner and 2 associate commissioners appointed by the treasurer. Not more than 2 members shall be members of the same political party. The commissioner shall serve a term coterminous with the treasurer. The 2 associate commissioners serving on the alcoholic beverages control commission on May 1, 2003 shall remain the associate commissioners until January 2, 2005. The 2 associate commissioners shall thereafter be appointed by the treasurer for terms of 4 years. The commissioner shall serve as chairman and shall devote his full time during business hours to his official duties. Any vacancy may be filled in like manner for the remainder of the unexpired term.
