§3121. Crop financing; assignment of interest by agricultural producer

A.When an agricultural producer, as defined in R.S. 3:3402, obtains financing for the production of a crop, and the total amount of the proceeds of that financing has not been disbursed, the agricultural producer may assign his interest in the undisbursed proceeds of financing for the current crop year to one or more vendors of supplies, materials, or services used in the production or processing of that crop in that crop year. The vendor to whom the assignment is made shall notify the lending institution of the existence of the assignment.
