§92. Powers and duties The chief engineer or his designated representative shall approve all plans, specifications, and estimates for the construction of all highways under the provisions of this Chapter. He also has such other duties as may be assigned to him by the secretary or the assistant secretary for project delivery by the provisions of this Chapter. He shall report the proceedings of his office to the assistant secretary for project delivery. Subject to and pursuant to the provisions of R.S. 48:259, the chief engineer has direct supervision of the maintenance of the highways and other facilities of the department.
