A.The department may erect, at suitable points selected by the Louisiana Tourism Development Commission, bronze markers denoting and describing locations and occasions of historical interest. These markers shall conform to a standard size and design prepared by the department in cooperation with the commission and shall be maintained by the department. The language of the legend thereon shall be submitted to and approved by the Department of History of Louisiana State University. When sponsored by and furnished by authentic historical organizations, the markers may carry the sponsor's organization name along the bottom edge thereof, but otherwise shall conform in all respects to the standard design and method of erection as provided in this Section.
