§131. Department purchasing agent; functions; bond The secretary shall appoint a purchasing agent, who shall be the head of this section. The purchasing agent shall advertise, let, and execute, on behalf of the department, all contracts for the purchase of supplies, materials, and equipment, in accordance with the provisions of the laws regulating the department. He shall give bond in favor of the governor in the amount of ten thousand dollars, conditioned on the faithful performance of his duties.
