Text

Any passenger carrying vehicle, of whatever class, of a capacity of more than seven passengers and used in the transportation of teachers or pupils to or from schools or their institutions of learning under contract or other arrangement made by or with the constituted and authorized school authorities, and any same type vehicle, which is owned and operated by and solely used for a nonprofit charitable institution, shall pay an annual license or registration fee of ten dollars per vehicle, regardless of its passenger capacity. For the purposes of this Section the applicant shall provide his sales tax exemption number as issued by the Louisiana Department of Revenue. This requirement shall not be necessary for religious orders operating as nonprofit charitable institutions.
