Text

A. The Department of Public Safety and Corrections shall issue to fire trucks and emergency vehicles which are the property of bona fide volunteer fire departments public license plates of the same type and at the same fee as are issued to other governmental agencies. B.

(1)The secretary shall provide for the issuance of special motor vehicle license plates, upon application, to any citizen of Louisiana who is a volunteer fireman with a bona fide volunteer fire department. The license plate shall bear the fireman's cross or the words "Volunteer Fireman", or both, and such numbers as the secretary finds expedient. With the exception of these special designations, the overall design and color of the plate shall be in general compliance with R.S. 47:463(A)(3).
