§463.40. Special license plates to promote child safety

A.The secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections shall establish special prestige motor vehicle license plates for the purpose of promoting child safety. The license plates shall be restricted to passenger cars, pick-up trucks, vans, and recreational vehicles. The secretary shall determine the design of the special prestige license plate issued under the provisions of this Section, provided such design shall bear the words "Think Safe Kids" and include a symbol to be determined by the Coalition for Maternal and Infant Health promoting safety belt use.
B.The prestige license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any citizen of Louisiana in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
