Text

A. The recorder is not liable personally or in his official capacity for:

(1)Complying with a judgment or court order.
(2)Recording a document that is not authorized by law to be recorded.
(3)Releasing or canceling an encumberance pursuant to a request filed in accordance with this Chapter. B. The liability of the recorder, both personally and in his official capacity, as well as that of his deputies and employees is regulated by the provisions of R.S. 13:750 and 750.1, and other provisions of law.
