§963. Schedules of controlled dangerous substances There are established five schedules of controlled substances, to be known as Schedules I, II, III, IV, and V. Such schedules shall initially consist of the substances listed in R.S. 40:964. In determining that a substance is to be added to these schedules, the secretary shall find the following: A. As to Schedule I:

(1)The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
(2)The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and
(3)There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision. B. As to Schedule II:
(1)The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
