§3171. Statement of purpose The intent of the legislature in licensing and regulating interior designers is to exercise the police power of the state to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the people of this state by limiting the practice of interior design to interior designers who have the design education and training required by this Chapter or to persons who are otherwise exempted from the provisions of this Chapter by establishing a board to set rules and criteria for licensing to protect the public from those not competent, and by prescribing penalties for violations.
