§1024. Authorized and prohibited functions of medication attendants A. The authorized functions of the medication attendant are:

(1)Deliver and administer medications ordered by a physician or dentist to residents with the supervision of a registered nurse.
(2)Record in the client's chart doses delivered to and/or administered to the client.
(3)Chart drug effects and side effects.
(4)Obtain vital signs as indicated or ordered.
(5)Deliver pro re nata "PRN", as needed, medications when authorized by a licensed physician, dentist, or registered nurse. This authorization must be documented in writing within twenty-four hours. B. The prohibited functions of the medication attendant are:
(1)May not give medications by intramuscular, intravenous, or subcutaneous routes.
(2)May not administ
