Text
All municipalities, except New Orleans, may enact ordinances for the purpose of regulating persons pursuing or engaged in the business of installing wires or apparatus to convey electric current for light, heat, or power. In furtherance thereof, the mayor, by and with the consent of the council, may appoint a board of not more than five members, of which the city electrician shall be a member and chairman. The remaining four members shall be electricians, who have had five years' experience, as such. The municipalities may in their discretion vest the board with full power, control, and regulation of the business.
