§130.257. Funding sources; fees and ad valorem tax; borrowing money A.

(1)The board may, when necessary and with approval of the governing authority of the parish of Terrebonne, levy annually an ad valorem tax not to exceed five mills on the dollar of assessed valuation of all property, provided that the amount, term, and purpose of the tax, as set out in a proposition submitted to a vote in accordance with the Louisiana Election Code, shall be approved by a majority of the qualified electors voting in a special election held for that purpose.
(2)The authority may receive not more than fifty percent of Terrebonne Parish's occupational license tax revenues beginning January 1, 2005, and all the proceeds of a building permit charge dedicated by the governing authority of the parish of Terre
