§1236.25. Pointe Coupee Parish; False River; encroachments
A.The governing authority of the parish of Pointe Coupee may adopt ordinances
relative to the regulation of the construction of buildings and other structures over False
River, including but not limited to the construction of bulkheads, wharves, piers, docks, boat
storage facilities, camps, houses, and commercial buildings as defined in R.S. 41:1704.
B.The governing authority of the parish of Pointe Coupee may adopt ordinances
relative to the regulation of the filling in of portions of False River adjacent to private and
public property.
C.Any ordinance adopted in accordance with Subsections A and B of this Section
shall not become effective until the ordinance is approved by the Department of
Conservation and Energy.
