Notwithstanding any other provisions of the law to the contrary, and provided the federal government does not raise any objection to such permitted weight limitations, Interstate 49 from its northern intersection with U.S. Highway No. 167 near Meeker in Rapides Parish to its southern intersection with U.S. Highway No. 167 near Washington in St. Landry Parish is hereby deemed as an alternate route for U.S. Highway No.

167.Any vehicle traveling under a special permit issued under the provisions of this Subpart, the conditions of which permit travel on U.S. Highway No. 167, is hereby authorized to travel Interstate 49 under the same conditions and restrictions as those applicable to its permit to travel on U.S. Highway No. 167.
