A.Mercury-added products with a code or date of manufacture indicating the products were manufactured prior to June 2, 2006, or that are meant to service products manufactured prior to June 2, 2006, are exempt from the provisions of R.S. 30:2575, 2576, 2578, 2581, and 2583 if there are no reasonable non-mercury alternatives. If the mercury-added product has a date of manufacture or the manufacturer can provide documentation that the product in question was manufactured prior to June 2, 2006, or the product is a service part for a product manufactured prior to June 2, 2006, it is exempt from the provisions of R.S. 30:2575, 2576, 2578, 2581, and 2583 if there are no reasonable non-mercury alternatives.
