§118. Article 18. General courts-martial
A. Subject to Article 17 of this Code, general courts-martial have jurisdiction to try
persons subject to this Chapter for any offense made punishable by this Chapter and may,
under such limitations as the adjutant general may prescribe, adjudge any punishment not
forbidden by this Chapter.
B. In the National Guard not in federal service, general courts-martial may be
convened by the governor or the adjutant general.
C. A general court-martial may sentence to:
(1) A fine of not more than one thousand dollars.
(2) Forfeiture of pay and allowances.
(3) A reprimand.
(4) Dismissal, bad-conduct discharge, or dishonorable discharge.
(5) Reduction of a noncommissioned officer to the ranks.
(6) Confinement of not more than two years.
(7) Any combination of these punishments.
