§681. Capitol security director; qualifications; compensation

A.There shall be a director of capitol security who shall be the chief security officer for the legislature. The director of capitol security shall be elected by the favorable vote of a majority of the elected members of each house of the legislature, after having been interviewed by the Capitol Security Council and recommended for employment by the council by a majority vote, and shall serve at the pleasure of the legislature. He may be removed by a majority vote of the elected members of each house of the legislature. Any vacancy occasioned by death, resignation, or otherwise, which occurs while the legislature is not in session, shall be filled on a temporary basis by the president of the Senate and the speaker of the House
