§2471. Authority of the commissioner
The commissioner may apply on behalf of the state of Louisiana for a state innovation
waiver pursuant to Section 1332 of Public Law 111-148, 42 U.S.C. 18052, and establish and
implement a reinsurance program administered pursuant to the state innovation waiver. No
reinsurance program authorized by this Section shall be created until the application for a
state innovation waiver is approved by the appropriate departments or agencies of the federal
government.
