§581. Application; definitions

A.Any other provisions of Chapter 1 of Subtitle II of Title 11 or any other laws to the contrary notwithstanding, the retirement of wildlife agents employed by the enforcement division of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission whose first employment making them eligible for membership in one of the state systems occurred on or before December 31, 2010, who are members of Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System, and all benefits accruing from such membership, shall be governed by the provisions of this Subpart; provided that with respect to matters not specifically covered by the provisions of this Subpart, reference shall be made to applicable provisions of Chapter 1 of Subtitle II of Title 11. A. Any other provisions of Chapter 1 of Subtitle II of Title 11 or any other laws to the contrary notwithstanding, the retirement of wildlife agents employed by the enforcement division of the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission whose first employment making them eligible for membership in one of the state systems occurred on or before December 31, 2010, who are members of Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System, and all benefits accruing from such membership, shall be governed by the provisions of this Subpart; provided that with respect to matters not specifically covered by the provisions of this Subpart, reference shall be made to applicable provisions of Chapter 1 of Subtitle II of Title 11. Beginning January 1, 2011, the provisions of this Subpart shall not be applicable to wildlife agents whose first employment making them eligible for membership in one of the state systems occurred on or after such date.
B. For purposes of this Subpart:
(1) The words "member", "members", "employee", or "employees" shall mean wildlife agents of the enforcement division of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, whose first employment making them eligible for membership in one of the state systems occurred on or before December 31, 2010, who are members of the Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System and shall not include any other members of said retirement system or members of any other retirement system to which the state makes contribution or otherwise.
(2) The term "board of trustees" shall mean and refer to the board of trustees of the Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System created and provided for by Chapter 1 of Subtitle II of Title 11 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950.
