§1938. Deferred Retirement Option Plan A. In lieu of terminating employment and accepting a service retirement allowance pursuant to R.S. 11:1941 and 1942, 1961 and 1962, or 1971 and 1972, any member who is eligible for a normal retirement allowance pursuant to R.S. 11:1941, 1961, or 1971 may elect to participate in the Deferred Retirement Option Plan and defer the receipt of benefits in accordance with the provisions of this Section. B.

(1)For purposes of this Section, except as provided in Paragraph (2) of this Subsection, creditable service shall not include service credit reciprocally recognized under R.S. 11:142.
