(a)Except as provided in K.S.A. 8-143k, and amendments thereto, and subsection (b), the owner of any truck or truck tractor which is duly registered and licensed in some other state, desiring to operate in intrastate commerce in this state for a temporary period only, in lieu of payment of the annual license fee, may register such truck or truck tractor and obtain either:
(1)A 72-hour temporary registration; or (2) a thirty-day license authorizing operation on the highways of this state for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of issuance of such license.
