§ 76-3203 — Administration of juvenile correctional facilities; rules and regulations; contracts for educational services; issuance of passes, prohibition; security plan; grooming code
Kansas·Ch. 76 STATE INSTITUTIONS AND AGENCIES; HISTORICAL PROPERTY·Art. 32 JUVENILE JUSTICE AUTHORITY
On and after July 1, 1997:
(a)All jurisdiction, powers, functions and duties relating to institutions as defined in K.S.A. 38-2302, and amendments thereto, are conferred and imposed upon the commissioner to be administered within the juvenile justice authority as provided by this act.
(b)The commissioner may adopt rules and regulations for the government, regulation and operation of institutions. The commissioner may adopt rules and regulations relating to all persons admitted to institutions.
(c)The commissioner may enter into an educational services contract with a unified school district, another public educational services provider or a private educational services provider for an institution pursuant to competitive bids or by negotiation as determined by the commissioner. Each such
