The state historical society is hereby authorized to accept and hold, in the name of the state, Old Grinter House, located in Muncie, Wyandotte county, Kansas, together with tracts of land upon which the dwelling is located and such other contiguous tracts, with the improvements thereon, as may be deemed necessary by the historical society to properly establish and maintain an historical landmark and museum to be known as the "Historic Grinter Place." Such lands, dwellings and improvements shall be acquired in fee simple by gift, grant or designation only for the purpose of establishing and maintaining such an historical landmark and museum. The state historical society shall have the power to do any and all things necessary to carry out the intent and purpose of this act and to make such

Conveyances of property shall not be accepted until the attorney general shall have examined the abstract of title to said property and determined that such conveyance would convey property in fee simple to the state of Kansas.
