Text

On and after July 1, 1997:

(a)Except as otherwise provided by this act, all of the powers, duties and functions of the department of social and rehabilitation services and the secretary of the department of social and rehabilitation services concerning juvenile offenders are hereby transferred to and conferred and imposed upon the juvenile justice authority and the commissioner of juvenile justice established by this act.
(b)Except as otherwise provided by this act, the juvenile justice authority and the commissioner of juvenile justice established by this act shall be the successor in every way to the powers, duties and functions of the department of social and rehabilitation services and the secretary of the department of social and rehabilitation services concerning juvenile offenders
