(a)There is hereby established within and as part of the department of commerce an athletic commission of the state of Kansas composed of five members appointed by the governor. Members of the commission shall serve at the pleasure of the governor. The members first appointed to the commission shall be appointed within 60 days after the effective date of this act. Of the members first appointed to the commission: One member shall be appointed to serve for one year, one member shall be appointed to serve for two years, two members shall be appointed to serve for three years and one member shall be appointed to serve for four years.
