(1)For the purposes of providing the "insured death benefit" and "long-term disability benefit" as prescribed in K.S.A. 74-4927, and amendments thereto, and for the purposes of providing the "accidental death benefit" as prescribed in subsection (2) of K.S.A. 74-4916, and amendments thereto, to all employees employed by the state board of regents or by educational institutions under the state board of regents who are fulfilling the service requirement under subsection (a) of K.S.A. 74-4925, and amendments thereto, on and after the first day of the first payroll period of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1985, the term "member" as used in subsection (2) of K.S.A. 74-4916, and amendments thereto, and K.S.A. 74-4927a, and amendments thereto, and in this section, shall include the aforemention

(2) The employer of any member shall pay to the Kansas public employees retirement system in such manner as the board of trustees shall prescribe each payroll period an amount sufficient to pay the amount of the employer's contribution attributable to the accidental death benefit as prescribed in subsection (2) of K.S.A. 74-4916, and amendments thereto, and an amount sufficient to pay the employer's contribution to the group insurance reserve as provided in subsection (4) of K.S.A. 74-4927, and amendments thereto.
(3) The employer of any member shall maintain a file of the beneficiaries named by the persons covered under this section in the form and manner as prescribed by the board of trustees.
